CANTON –  The investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding a metropolis police officer’s deadly capturing of a 46-year-old man on tenth Road SW shortly after the brand new 12 months started.

The person shot was armed when the capturing occurred, in response to the Canton Police Division. He was later recognized as James Williams.

Police mentioned they went to the 2300 block of tenth Road SW simply after midnight Saturday in response to a report of gunfire.

In line with a press release from the Canton Police Chief Jack Angelo:

“…. the officer, who was outdoors of his car, confronted a topic that started capturing a firearm. The officer, in worry for his security, fired his responsibility weapon on the topic and struck him.”
